Basic Information of All Units FAQ
What can you find in this FAQ?
This FAQ includes the basic details of all the units and buildings (except heroes) you will encounter in a DotA game. These units are classified into five categories:
What information of these units can be found?
All the information of units will be presented in tables. The first column lists the names of the units; the first column lists the names of the attributes of the units. These include:
Acquire: When the enemies approach a unit, the unit will automatically walk towards the enemy to attack it. The longest distance between a unit and the enemy such that the unit will automatically attack the enemy is called Acquire.
Range: A unit's attack range. This can be found by moving your mouse cursor to the weapon icon after clicking on any unit.
Damage: A unit's damage and attack type. Different attack types work differently against different armor types. For detailed information please check THIS THREAD.
BAT: BAT means Base Attack Time. It is the duration of the unit's physical attack cooldown. In simpler words, it is the time which a unit needs to "swing" its weapon in consecutive attacks. Needless to say, lower BAT means that a unit can deal more hits i.e. more damage. More information on BAT can be found in THIS THREAD.
Bounty: When you deal the last hit of a unit, there will be a yellow number popping up from a unit's head, for example +40. This is the gold that you will earn upon killing the unit.
HP, HP regen, and regenType: HP means your hit points. HP regen is the hit point a unit can gain every second. For certain units, they only regenerate HP under specific conditions e.g. blight, night. In that case, regenType will be blight, night. Otherwise it is assumed that the unit will regenerate HP all the time.
Mana/ Regen: Mana is the mana pool of the unit, Regen is the mana a unit can gain every second.
Armor: A unit's armor and armor type. Different armor types work differently against different attack type. For more information please check THIS THREAD.
Speed: A unit's movespeed.
sight/ nsight: sight is the line of sight of a unit, nsight is the line of sight of a unit at night time. The line of sight of all heroes are posted in THIS THREAD.
Size: size is the collison size of a unit. A unit with large collision size is more likely to be blocked by other units. For reference, most heroes' collision size is 24.
Note that certain units in these tables have special skills e.g. Roshan's Hurl Boulder. Information of those skills will be released later.
How do I use these tables?
For example I want to check the BAT of level 2 Necronomicon Archer. Since Necronomicon Archer is summoned by Necronomicon, you should check up Table 2. In that table, read the first column for "Necronomicon Archer 2", and the first row for "BAT". The intersection of this row and column (1 in this example) is the number you want. In other words, The BAT of a level 2 Necronomicon Archer is 1. All the names on the first column are arranged according to alphatbetical order.
List of Tables

Table 2: Units that are summoned by items
Table 3: Computer controlled units i.e. creeps
Table 4: Units that are summoned by Sentinel Heroes
